Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative (RAC) has been a resource, service provider and enabler of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of the Greater Shepparton region since 1980.  RAC is a cooperative working to provide a range of supports and services including:

  • Health and wellbeing

  • Positive aging and disability services

  • Community services

  • Asset and infrastructure services

  • Corporate services

 

RAC has an annual budget of $19 million and a workforce of approximately 230 people.  RAC is a significant employer and economic contributor to the region and plays a high profile leadership role as one of the larger Aboriginal organisations in Australia.

About the role:

This role is accountable for the day to day operational management of the facility and in providing a range of culturally holistic care services to Elders and will report to and liaise closely with the CEO.

About you (our selection criteria):

  • Current registration as Registered Nurse with AHPRA

  • Senior management experience in aged care, preferably in residential setting.

  • Demonstrated cultural knowledge and experience working with Aboriginal organisations.

  • A strong commitment to excellence and quality in the provision of aged care related services with a sound working knowledge of quality principles and accreditation.

  • Highly developed leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage staff and workplace practices.

  • Strong planning, time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise accordingly.

  • Excellent people management and interpersonal skills to ensure the achievement of quality outcomes.

  • Demonstrated financial management skills and experience in managing budgets

  • Well- developed communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills

  • A demonstrated ability to network with a range of stakeholders including an understanding of the interface between the acute health, aged and community care sectors with the ability to build relationships around these sectors

  • Computer literacy – Intermediate to advanced

  • Actively maintains professional skills and is up to date in current contemporary practices

  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

       Demonstrate knowledge of Aged Care policies, procedures and legislation requirements

NDIS Service Coordinator

Full time – 38 Hours per week

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will have a strong understanding of the complexities of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and the underlying influences impacting disability services.  You will be responsible for the various service systems that clients interface with, and the advocacy required in these systems. Your experience and knowledge in the area of the National Disability Insurance Scheme is essential. More specifically, you will competently and confidently lead the organisation in the development of NDIS service coordination and support systems. Walk along-side a number of crucial stakeholders, negotiate support plans between services on behalf of the client.
